About the Panelists:
Anna Han is senior counsel with White & Case LLP, a global law firm with 35 offices in 23 countries.  She advises companies on all aspects of investing in China with structuring, negotiation and approval advice, and she also advises Asian clients on investing in the US.  In addition to her law practice, Anna is also a Professor at Santa Clara University’s School of Law.  Prior to joining White and Case, she was a partner with a national firm advising US, European and Japanese companies doing business in China, including offshore oil explorations.  She opened and managed that firm's China office in 1985 and was resident in China until 1988.  She was the first foreign lawyer to open an office and represent a foreign law firm in Shanghai, China.  Anna’s complete bio is available at:   http://www.whitecase.com/ahan/   

Mary Cranston is the Firm Senior Partner and Immediate Past Chair of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP, an international law firm.   In her eight years as Chair, Ms. Cranston expanded the firm from a regional California base into an international platform through two large mergers and the addition of seven offices.   The firm was one of three law firms ranked in the top 100 companies in the U.S. for working mothers in 2006.   Ms. Cranston has been practicing complex litigation, including antitrust, telecommunications and securities litigation since 1975.   Ms. Cranston has been named one of “The 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America” by the National Law Journal, one of two “Best Law Firm Leaders in the United States” by Of Counsel, and one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in California” by the San Francisco Daily Journal and the Los Angeles Daily Journal.  Ms. Cranston was the recipient of the 2005 Margaret Brent Award, the American Bar Association’s highest award for women lawyers, given for legal excellence and for paving the way for other women lawyers.  Mary’s complete bio is available at:  http://www.pillsburylaw.com/mary.cranston

Penny Herscher is President and CEO of FirstRain and has developed the company as the leading search-driven application provider to the financial services market. Prior to FirstRain, Penny was Chairman and CEO of Simplex Solutions where she led the company to an IPO and through the sale to Cadence Design Systems. Penny serves on the boards of FirstRain, Rambus, the Anita Borg Institute, California Community Partners for Youth (CCPY), and Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. Nora Denzel recently retired from Hewlett Packard as the senior vice president and general manager of HP’s over one-billion dollar software division. At HP, she led one of the most dramatic turn-arounds in the software industry by reinvigorating HP’s OpenView and OpenCall software product lines through internal product development and the successful integration of over eight acquisitions.  During her tenure as HP’s software chief, sales more than doubled, and the bottom line improved by over 72%.  She has been named as one of the top 20 "Storage Movers and Shakers" by Storage, Inc. magazine and one of the most powerful people in networking by Network World magazine.
